REFUSE, RECYCLING AND YARD WASTE SERVICES:

All refuse and recyclable items should be placed no more than 2-3 feet from the edge of the road before 6:00am on the morning of pickup.

TOTE SERVICE:
We offer four types of tote service for your residential refuse. All trash must be inside the tote with the lid closed. Anything outside of the tote (other than recycling) is an additional charge. Drivers will not pick up extra items unless you have made arrangements with our office to do so.

In addition to your tote, Marengo Disposal offers free pick up of one bulk item per residence per month. Bulk items are things such as couches, chairs, a mattress, boxspring, dressers, etc. Appliances (white goods) are not considered as bulk items. Please contact MDC Environmental Services for removal information for these items.

YARD WASTE SERVICE:
Upon payment of an annual subscription fee, we will place your address on a route list for weekly collection on Tuesdays of your yardwaste materials. All yardwaste must be contained in 32-gallon kraft paper bags or 32-gallon garbage cans not to exceed 50 pounds. Each container must have a yardwaste sticker on it in order to be collected. Each yardwaste sticker covers the removal of one of the above containers one time. Stickers can be purchased at City Hall, Heyer True Value and Sullivan Foods. Please remember that you must call our office to sign up for yard waste collection service. We will be unable to pickup yardwaste for residents that are not signed up for this service.

HOLIDAYS:
No collection on New Yearʼs Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day or whenever the disposal facility is closed. If your pickup falls on or after these holidays, collection will be one day later.

BILL PAYMENT:
Bills may be paid online at www.mdces.com, or in person or by mail at 1050 Greenlee Street, Marengo, Illinois 60152. They can also be paid in person at Brandtʼs Pharmacy, 101 N. State Street, Marengo.

Our office hours are 7:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday.

RECYCLE:
We recycle on the same day as your refuse pickup and we suggest that you use paper grocery bags as additional containers and dividers. Please do not use garbage cans or plastic bags for your recyclable materials.

These are the items we recycle. You do not have to separate them into individual groups.

RINSE ALL JARS, BOTTLES AND CANS — REMOVE TOPS FROM PLASTIC AND GLASS

ITEMS THAT WE DO NOT RECYCLE: tissue, aluminum foil, plastic bags, Styrofoam, ceramic, china and light bulbs. If you have a question as to the recyclability of an item, please call our office at 815-568-7274.

KINDLY HAVE YOUR REFUSE AND RECYCLABLE ITEMS AT THE CURB BY 6:00AM ON THE DAY OF PICKUP.
